“Mini Woodstock” coined by Patio Palooza regulars is a fitting name for the open mic music event that hits the Coal House Every Thursday night. The energy is overwhelming and the talent that takes the patio is remarkable. Patio Palooza has a unique vibe – dozens of talented vocalists, guitarists, drummers, and even harmonica players jam out together in harmonious unison. The main genres hit are bluegrass and rock. The event is hosted by Mike and Jo Whitney. Other regular musicians include Shimes from Cool 106.7 on the Drums, Duke Holdsworth on the harmonica and vocals, Mike Whitney on guitar and vocals, Gerald on the bass, the man simply known as “Doc” soothing your soul with the blues, and Jo Whitney, the ball of fire who keeps the audience engaged and wows you with her voice. Many others take the patio stage intermittently – that is the fun part, every Patio Palooza is different. You never know who is going to take the stage and what songs you will hear. Come out on Thursday and listen to the music! This is a free event. We have plenty of seating on the Coal House grounds. Also, the café will be open every Patio Palooza night.
Patio Palooza: Every Thursday, May 18 to September 21. 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Vestal Coal House
